One of the most powerful aspects of our work is our HopeDays program.
We grant a "never-ending" wish - providing a child with monthly fun and
exciting events that help restore their hope for the future. We
have events on a child's calendar each and every month so they can look
forward to the future with renewed hope and excitement!
HopeKids believes that by bringing joy to these remarkable children via an
ongoing schedule of events we can help cultivate hope, acceptance and most
importantly the will to live. Our HopeDays program provides
incredible dream come true moments, but also something to look forward to in
the future.
In addition to our regular events, to which we invite all the children with
whom we are working and their entire families, we grant individually designed
special wishes. All of these activities are fun and
exciting, and promote a deepening of relationships and friendships. In
some cases, they provide a return to normalcy for many families facing a fragile
life. For others, they provide a much needed relief during a
stressful and often scary time.
"We are excited about the work of
HopeKids and look forward to working with them to have an
impact on these special children."
Phoenix Suns
The power of a wish is the anticipation. Our goal is to create
a constant state of anticipation, of looking forward to the future with excitement
and hope. Simply put, we want to give the child another reason to
fight, another reason to want to live while the medicine and treatments are given
the time needed to heal what is making them sick.
HopeCommunity
Support, love, and encouragement are all vital when your world is rocked with the
news that your child has cancer or some other life-threatening illness. We
have a support community, but it is uniquely powerful. It is designed to help
restore hope to a difficult and uncertain future.
Our community of children and their families get involved in each other's lives.
They encourage and support each other. What is unique is that we have children
who are newly diagnosed, children who are in the midst of difficult treatment, and children
who are healed and now cancer-free!
One of the most inspiring moments is when a child who has just been diagnosed with a
particular cancer, meets a child who has been healed from that same cancer. You can
almost see the light go on as they realize that this battle is one they can win.
Our families and children get to know each other at our events each month, and through our
online forums. We come alongside each other with a message of love,
compassion and hope that says we can
raise the spirits of children in their greatest time of need.
